THE STONE SOLDIER POTTERY
is located in rural Jacksonville, Vermont and follows the
Vermont tradition of individuality. We use the
time honored method of making pottery on the potter's wheel,
together with the up-to-date techniques of a
contemporary pottery. Each piece reflects the skill,
experience and taste of the potter.
The pottery is decorated by hand. Glazes are applied by
hand dipping and pouring. The glazed pottery is then loaded
into the kiln for the final process; the firing.
A special technique called reduction firing is used by the
STONE SOLDIER POTTERY, and special care is taken to
bring out the finest variegated colors and mottled textures.
The firing process takes a full day,
reaching temperatures in excess of 2300 degrees Farenheight.
The kiln is then allowed to cool for two days before being opened.
STONE SOLDIER pottery is lead-free, oven proof, microwave and
dishwasher safe.
